Johns Island man arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor

A Johns Island man was arrested in connection with the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers arrested David Evan Leonard, 26, of Johns Island, after a search warrant was served at his residence in reference to a cyber tip the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children task force received.

Leonard is charged with four counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

He was granted a $40,000 bond at a hearing on September 25 and is being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.
