I wish I belonged to a party with a backbone

I’ve mostly avoided talking about the Courtier Press and the Republican-generated nonsense about whether Joe Biden should end his candidacy. Democrats tend to get hysterical about anything the MSM wants to keep going for more than 24 hours, seemingly forever. Does anyone remember the entire Beltway press corpse gasping for breath in anticipation of Hillary Clinton dropping dead on a stage somewhere? How about Katie Hill getting thrown out of Congress because she finds her CONSENSUAL sexual relationships a little spicy? Al Franken getting stripped of his Senate seat based on an obvious set-up involving photos that were part of a USO tour that was intended to be burlesque in theme if not in costume? John Kerry being abandoned by the entire party because his heroism was being vilified 4 years after GWB rode into the White House on stolen valor? Bill Clinton being impeached for behavior very similar to that of nearly every House impeachment manager? Oh, and then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich pocketed a fair bit of cash after chasing Tom Foley away for picking up a twenty off the floor and putting it in his pocket.

At the same time, I am deeply suspicious of the Democratic Party donor class and the Corporate Democrats whose seats and loyalty they are buying. After years of getting us all into the mindset of voting blue no matter who, what kind of presidential candidate are they trying to replace? Only the most functionally liberal president we’ve had in 2 generations. The man who supports union rights, initiates antitrust actions, forgives student loans, ramps up decarbonization, raises incomes for ordinary Americans in multiple ways, promises to raise taxes on the wealthy, and so much more.

The billionaires are not our friends. They are showing it now, because they are perfectly willing to sell us out to fascism, if they will not slow down their drive to get every last bit of wealth into their own hands.

Is Biden by nature and historically a centrist? Certainly. Is he as perfect a president as I would like him to be? Ask the refugee population of Palestine. However, I recognize that what he is doing is right and this is never the time to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

It seems my suspicions on this matter are not wrong. A few voices in the know express similar sentiments. AOC is one of them.

“I’m here to tell you that a large portion of the donor class and a large portion of these elites and a large portion of these people in these rooms that I see pushing for President Biden not to be the nominee are not interested in the vice president being the nominee either,”
