Fans of the Iowa women’s basketball team officially met Villanova signing Lucy Olsen in a unique setting on Friday night.

Olsen and her teammates played as part of the USA 3×3 Nations League team, competing against Team USA’s primary 3×3 team that will be going to the Olympics next month. The exhibition was part of the WNBA Skills Competition at All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.

Team USA defeated the Nations League team 19-16 in a thrilling chaotic basketball battle, with the winner decided after 10 minutes or when either team reaches 21 points. Two-pointers are worth one point and three-pointers are worth two points. Olsen made a three-pointer in the game.

With Caitlin Clark looking on along with all the other WNBA stars, Olsen and her fellow students Christina Dalce (Maryland), Morgan Maly (Creighton), Cotie McMahon (Ohio State), Mikaylah Williams (LSU) and Serah Williams (Wisconsin) took on Team USA’s Hailey Van Lith (TCU), Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream), Derica Hamby (Los Angeles Sparks) and Cierra Burdick.

Olsen and the Nations League team will then compete in Mexico City from July 22-28 during the FIBA 3×3 Nations League America Conference.

Olsen was the nation’s third-leading scorer last year at Villanova and now must make up for some of the production losses that came with Clark’s graduation from Iowa.
