Prosper shines against Boston Celtics in Dallas Mavericks’ first Summer League win

The Dallas Mavericks finally secured their first win of the 2024 NBA Summer League on Friday afternoon, defeating the Boston Celtics 101-90. While the Celtics were once again without some of their top prospects, including Neemias Queta and Jaden Springer, the Mavericks were also without Brandon Williams. In his absence, Olivier-Maxence Prosper and AJ Lawson both had stellar games for the Mavericks.

Prosper had his best game of the Summer League, scoring 22 points on an 8/14 shooting 8/14 from the floor and adding 4 assists. Lawson was right on Prosper’s heels with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Prosper had a rough few games to start the Summer League, but this is a much-needed comeback game from the young Marquette forward as the Mavs hope he can show enough to be a part of the rotation next season.

Dallas lost a close game to the Utah Jazz to open Summer League, but were then blown out by the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat. The Celtics moved to 2-2 with their loss, led by Jaelen House, the son of former Celtic Eddie House, with 18 points. Their most recent first-round pick Baylor Scheierman was not far behind with 15 points.

The Mavericks have a quick breakthrough and will play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday at 10:00 p.m. CST.
