Denver Weather: Cooler Weekend Temperatures with Some Showers and Storms

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s weather is cooling off over the weekend, with below-average temperatures both days. Showers and storms are also in the works for Saturday and Sunday, and the area is at marginal risk for severe weather, with the biggest threat coming after 3 p.m.

Today’s weather: Showers with temperatures below average

Denver starts the weekend off right with partly cloudy skies and dry air. Morning temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s before climbing into the mid 80s in the afternoon.


There will also be scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, especially after 3 p.m.

Weather tonight: Showers, cooler

Showers and thunderstorms are possible Saturday night before midnight, before calming down very early Sunday morning. Tonight, temperatures will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s under mostly cloudy skies, with wind gusts as high as 20 mph.

Outlook: more thunderstorms, cool start to the week

Showers and storms remain in the forecast for the area on Sunday, with highs on Sunday expected to be in the mid to upper 70s. This is about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.

Monday temperatures will be similar to Sunday, with a maximum temperature of around 27 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon there is a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Drier and warmer weather is in store for the rest of the work week. High temperatures are seasonal, with Wednesday in the low 90s and Thursday and Friday in the mid 90s.
