Late night house fire in Lansing causes $35,000 in damage

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Lansing Fire Department personnel responded to a house fire in Lansing Friday evening.

Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1110 block of Eaton Court at 11:30 p.m. on July 19.

Upon arrival, authorities found a one-story home on fire and heavy smoke. Crews attempted to enter the home but were unable to due to the large amount of debris.

After a second hose was attached, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

After investigation, authorities suspect the fire in the living room was caused by an electrical problem.

According to authorities, no one was home at the time of the fire.

The estimated property damage is $35,000.
