Caitlin Clark, Fever Players vs. US Olympic Team

play

The Indiana Fever has three players participating in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game: center Aliyah Boston and guards Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

A roster of 12 WNBA players will play against the team representing the United States at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on July 20 in Phoenix.

The Fever have become the team to watch, thanks in large part to Clark’s presence after a record-breaking college career that included two national championship appearances. They’ve set attendance records for themselves and other teams, while some of their games have generated unprecedented television ratings.

After several seasons at the bottom or near the bottom of the rankings, the Fever (11-15) are competing for the play-offs this season.

What did Cheryl Reeve say about Caitlin Clark?

Before a recent game between Minnesota and Indiana Fever, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve – who also coaches Team USA for the Olympics – brushed off a question about Clark.

“Why on earth would I answer a question from the national team?” Reeve said. “I wear Lynx. And I’m the head coach of the national team, but I’m not the chairman of the committee. Does anyone want to worry about something else?”

After that game, which the Fever won, Reeve acknowledged Clark’s impact on the WNBA.

“Everyone knows the reason our teams sell out in the league is because Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are coming to town,” Reeve said.
