Investigation underway after man dies at Long Pond in Lakeville – Boston News, Weather, Sports

LAKEVILLE, MASS. (WHDH) – Authorities are investigating an emergency that occurred Saturday at Long Pond in Lakeville, officials said.

Officers who responded to a request from the Environmental Police at 5 p.m. to send the dive team and police boat to search for a man in his 60s who had gone missing earlier that day found the man about 45 minutes later, Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No additional information was immediately available.
