Matthew Iacobucci has been appointed general manager of The Pontchartrain Hotel.

Iacobucci most recently served as manager of Surety Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa, a sister property in the Aparium Hotels portfolio. He has held positions ranging from director of food and beverage to director of operations at hotels in cities including Nashville, Tennessee; Miami Beach, Florida; and Snowmass, Colorado.

Thomas Aleman is promoted by OnPath Credit Union to chief of staff.

Aleman joined OnPath in July 2022 as senior vice president of growth and was named chief administrative officer last year. Prior to that, he worked at Hancock Whitney Bank, JPMorgan Chase and Corporate One Credit Union.

He received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Loyola University in New Orleans.

Dr. Robert Veith has joined the medical staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Slidell.

Veith has worked as an oncologist/hematologist in the Metairie area for decades. He has held senior positions at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from LSU and a medical degree from the LSU Health Sciences Center. Veith completed an internship at Memorial Health in Worcester, Massachusetts, a residency at Charity Hospital, and a fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine. While in Washington, he trained under E. Donnall Thomas, who won a Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work in cell and organ transplantation.

Baton Rouge

Dr. Maurice Koning III has joined the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.

King is a radiation oncologist. His father, Doctor Maurice King Jr.is also a radiation oncologist and works at the Mary Bird Perkins Hospital.

He received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, magna cum laude, from Tulane University, a master’s degree in cellular and molecular biology from Tulane University, a master’s degree in clinical and translational science from Augusta University, and a medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. King III completed an internship at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport and a residency at the University of Mississippi.

Alicia Davidson has been hired by the Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance as Deputy Director of Communications and Public Affairs.

Davidson previously worked for Methanex, Bayou Blonde Marketing, the East Baton Rouge Parish, the Central and Zachary Community school systems, Louisiana Economic Development and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications (public relations), magna cum laude, from LSU.

Ben Davidson has been hired by V.Graham as a data analyst.

Davidson has been working as an intern at the company for several months.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in information systems and decision sciences from LSU.

Caroline Castigliola has joined Kean Miller as special counsel.

Castigliola, who works with the personal injury and mass tort group, has more than a decade of experience in areas including civil and criminal cases, insurance and litigation. She has worked in local, state and federal offices and the World Trade Center in New Orleans. Before coming to law school, Castigliola was an attorney for U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi.

She received a bachelor’s degree in English, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi and a law degree, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi Law School.

Doctor Colin Mitchell has been appointed head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

Mitchell, professor of equine surgery, has been affiliated with the School of Veterinary Medicine since 2005. Since 2020, he has been clinical leader and director of the school’s large animal services.

Mitchell passes Dr. Frank Andrewswho will lead the school’s Equine Health & Sports Performance program.

He received a bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine and surgery from the University of Edinburgh and a master’s degree in science from the University of Minnesota.
