Cooler, shorter heat wave repeat predicted for northern valley – Red Bluff Daily News

SACRAMENTO — The northern state is expected to experience a heat wave similar to the one seen in early July this week, although it is not expected to be as warm or as long, according to a report Saturday from the National Weather Service Sacramento.

According to the weather forecast, cities in the northern valley have a 20-50% chance of maximum temperatures of over 110 degrees Celsius from today through Wednesday. The greatest heat is expected in the foothills of the mountains on Tuesday.

Highs today through Monday will rise in Chico from 39.5 to 42.5 degrees Celsius; in Oroville from 39.5 to 42.5 degrees Celsius; in Paradise from 36.5 to 38.5 degrees Celsius; and in Red Bluff from 41.5 to 42.5 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, highs are forecast for Chico at 42 degrees Celsius, Oroville at 42 degrees Celsius, Paradise at 39 degrees Celsius and Red Bluff at 42 degrees Celsius.
