Obituary Colette A. Layshock, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania

SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Colette A. Layshock, 88, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with her family by her side.

Colette was born on December 22, 1935, the daughter of Mary Ann (Roch) and Clarence Elroy Brown in Cleveland, Ohio.


She graduated from Hartford High School.

On August 8, 1953, she married her husband, the late Lawrence J. Layshock, who died on October 12, 2019.

She worked for JCPenny for many years in the home goods department.

Colette was a member of St. Bartholomew RC Church in Sharpsville.

She loved gardening, crocheting and baking and was an avid reader.

Colette was also a member of the Veseljaci Tamburitza of Farrell, Pennsylvania.

Surviving are her children, Rose (Walt) Turuck, Suzy (Ron) Taylor, Cindy (Mike) Allshouse, Don (Cherie) Layshock and Katy (Bob) Malaniak, her 11 grandchildren, Jenny Turuck, Stephanie Turuck, Valerie Taylor, Adam Allshouse, Dan Allshouse, Melissa Allshouse, Jason Allshouse, Justin Layshock, Brittany (Cory) Riffe, Patrick (Emily) Layshock, Mikhaila (Christopher) Galantis and nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Noah, Marcel, Jayna, Sebastian, Alana, Ethan, Amelia and Victor.

The family would like to thank Kathy Mueller, her beloved caregiver, Dave, Sherry and Cathy of the Mercer County Senior Center and especially Larry, her MCCT driver.

Her parents and her husband, Lawrence Layshock, have already passed away.

Friends may call at the SHERMAN Funeral Home, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bartholomew RC Church, 311 West Ridge Avenue, Sharpsville, on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Glen Whitman officiating. Friends are welcome to meet directly at the church.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, next to her husband.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by SHERMAN Funeral Home & Crematory, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
