How Sweet Is It Not – The Food Section

Milo’s Tea Company presidents Anthoney Kohistani and Chris Kidenda are regulars at IFT FIRST, the world’s largest annual convention of scientists and entrepreneurs involved in food technology. So they felt right at home last week as they walked the floor of Chicago’s McCormick Place, packed with more than 1,000 exhibitors showing off additives that occupy the last spot on the ingredient list: synthetic compounds and natural extracts that are said to brighten colors, smooth textures and deepen flavors.

In addition to shaking hands with current partners and old friends, representatives from the Alabama-based chilled tea producer also walked the shelves with an eye toward the future.
