4 injured in 3 shootings in Lansing in violent weekend

LANSING — Three people were shot in two separate incidents Sunday during a violent weekend in the city, Lansing police reported Monday morning.

None of the three injured, all men, suffered life-threatening injuries. Police said they had a suspect in one incident, but the person had not yet been arrested.

In the first incident, police were called to the 200 block of Huron Street around 8:10 p.m. Sunday night for a reported shooting. When they arrived, police found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to his shin.

Shortly after, a 28-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with injuries to his elbow and abdomen, police said.

Both men are in stable condition. Police said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

For the second shooting, police were called to the 4200 block of West Jolly Road around 10:38 p.m.

A 34-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gulkis said “the suspects involved in this incident are not currently in custody.”

The incidents were the second and third shootings over the weekend that left people injured. A man was shot early Saturday morning just east of downtown, near Adado Riverfront Park, Lansing police said Saturday afternoon.

The 34-year-old man, who was not identified, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, LPD Sgt. Gino Tocco said. Police had no update on the man’s condition Monday.

Police said no arrests have been made. Tocco said the shooting was not random; the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 517-483-4600.
