Carrie Underwood: ‘A Little Too Much Fun’

Carrie Underwood is making the most of her time in Hawaii this week, posting a series of photos of herself and her band in Hawaiian shirts, frolicking on the beach.

In her first Instagram post, Carrie shared a video collage of herself and her group in Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses set to her song “One Way Ticket.” She captioned the post, “Having a little too much fun in #Honolulu with the band! #Hawaii #WeTotallyBlendIn @bassmmmbass @edeasonofficial @chadjeffers @sasheriff @jordancolelawson @sydperryky @mattreviere @sethgrausch #FunGuys.”

We’re just out here living our best lives! No band members were harmed in the making of these photos! #CUinHawaii #honolulu #FunGuys #BlendingIn.”

While in Hawaii, Underwood added a new and historic first to her list of accolades when she was presented with ceremonial proclamations by Hawaii Governor Green and Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi declaring July 18, 2024, as “Carrie Underwood Day.”

The proclamations were issued in recognition of Underwood’s incredible career achievements, significant cultural and community contributions, and her first-ever performances in Hawaii on July 19 and 20, 2024.

Never before in the history of the Aloha State have ceremonial proclamations been issued simultaneously by the State of Hawaii and the City and County of Honolulu to honor an artist.

Underwood’s Hawaiian concert promoter Rick Bartalini said, “History was made with Carrie becoming the first artist to receive ceremonial proclamations from both the state and the city. She joins the prestigious company of entertainers who have previously been honored in this manner by the mayor or governor, including Elvis Presley, Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars and Diana Ross.”

Both proclamations were presented to Underwood during an official ceremony at Blaisdell Arena by Rick Blangiardi, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu. The mayor said, “With heartfelt aloha, we thank her for bringing her live show to Hawaii and fulfilling the dreams of thousands of fans who have been eagerly awaiting this opportunity. Carrie Underwood embodies the aloha spirit through her talent, love, genuine care and compassion for others.”

Due to popular demand, Underwood added a second show to Blaisdell Arena in March after the first sold out in under an hour.
