20 contestants compete for the Iowa State Fair lottery game show

DES MOINES, Iowa — Twenty lucky winners will have the chance to win up to $5 million this year at a live lottery game show at the Iowa State Fair.

The Iowa Lottery said there were more than 67,000 entries for the Fair Fever promotion. This will be the first lottery game show at the Fair since 2012.

Entrants were chosen through the Iowa Lottery and the Iowa State Fair scratch-off ticket released earlier this year. Those who did not win direct prizes on their tickets could enter them into the Fair Fever promotion for a chance to enter the show or win a Grandstand concert prize package.

Each contestant must play a series of games to win the prize. All contestants take home a minimum of $10,000, and the finalist wins a minimum of $500,000 and has a chance to win up to $5 million.

The show will take place on August 8 at 5:30pm on the Grand Concourse.
