Schumer Prepares for Vote on Bipartisan Bills to Keep Children Safe Online

As pressure mounts on Congress to rein in major social media companies, the Senate this week will consider a number of major bipartisan bills aimed at making the internet safer for children.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer plans to announce Tuesday that he will sign the Kids Online Safety Act (P. 1409), or KOSA, and the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (S.1418), or COPPA 2.0, will be put to a vote as soon as possible on Thursday, his office said.
