Juneau Certified Municipal Candidates – Local First Media Group

The filing period for the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly and Board of Education (School Board) opened on Friday, July 12 at 8:00 a.m. and closed on Monday, July 22 at 4:30 p.m. Candidates have until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26 to withdraw their names from the ballot. The names of the candidates are listed below in the order in which they were certified.

Voters will elect the mayor, one district representative from District 1, one district representative from District 2, and three members of the school board during the regular municipal elections on October 1, 2024.

Only CERTIFIED CANDIDATES are listed below.

Keep in mind that: Voters may vote for any race on the ballot. Assembly members and Board of Education members are elected and serve throughout the area. Districts are based solely on the candidate’s place of residence! This is different from state elections.

Anyone wishing to register as a Write-In Candidate for the October 1, 2024 regular municipal election must submit a Letter of Intent and Declaration of Candidacy Form, along with an Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure Statement, by Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Write-in candidacy procedures are in accordance with CBJ Code 29.07.050. Should we receive write-in candidates, their names will be added to the list below, but they will not be provided with an optional candidate profile statement and their names will not be printed on the ballot.
