Topeka Police Investigate Bank Robbery

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Police Department (TPD) is investigating a reported bank robbery in downtown Topeka Tuesday.

City of Topeka spokeswoman Rosie Nichols said in a July 23 news release that TPD officers were called to the US Bank at 719 South Kansas Avenue around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a man demanding money before fleeing on foot. The man indicated he had a weapon at the time of the incident.


Police are still investigating the situation along with federal partners. There were no reported injuries during the alleged robbery. Officers are currently searching for a suspect in this investigation.

“The suspect was seen with light colored facial hair, wearing a multicolored baseball cap backwards, a red soccer jersey with the number “7” on it, red athletic shorts, and brown shoes. Anyone with information is encouraged to report it to police by calling 911.”
