Solar farm in East Windsor to supply energy to 12,000 homes

EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — The state’s largest solar farm in East Windsor will provide energy to 12,000 homes and local businesses once it is completed this fall.

The project was funded by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 and uses tax credits. It is considered the largest investment in energy and climate in the country’s history.

On Tuesday, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) saw it firsthand.

“And what this does is it creates a lot of jobs in Connecticut,” he said. “It’s cleaning up the environment and it’s lowering costs.”

According to Murphy, companies that sign a contract with the solar park can save 15% to 20% on their energy bill.
