Body found in homeless camp on Davis Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office responded to a report of a death in a wooded area on Davis Road on Tuesday, July 23.

Coroner Mark Bowen released a statement confirming that the body of a man had been found in a homeless camp. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the office, the deceased’s body had been there for several days. An autopsy has been scheduled. The GBI Crime Lab has been contacted to make a positive identification.
