The Impact of the Media on Avon Subject of History Podcast

AVON, CT — The latest edition of the Avon Historical Society’s history podcast “Avon Talks” explores the ever-changing role of print and digital media on the local level.

“Since the early 20th century, the media landscape has again rapidly evolved with the advent of radio, video broadcasting and eventually the Internet,” the association wrote. “This revolutionary change would not go unnoticed by Avon.”

Bruce Deckert, founder and editor-in-chief of Today Publishing, is a guest on the latest edition of the podcast, which is available on various platforms.

He will discuss “the rapidly changing world of print publishing and media digitization in Avon and the Farmington Valley,” the Avon Historical Society wrote.

Avon Talks is a monthly podcast about Avon history, landmarks, and current events from the Avon Historical Society and the Town of Avon.

The host is Ethan Guo, an Avon resident and current student at Tufts University.
