A motorcyclist was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when he tried to avoid a collision in Dover Township, Chatham-Kent police said.

Emergency services were called to Pain Court Line and Town Line Road around 3:45 p.m. after a cyclist was seriously injured when he dropped his bike to avoid a collision with a vehicle, police said.

He was taken to a hospital in Windsor in critical condition, police said.

Air rifle seized, woman charged

A Chatham resident is facing gun charges after a confrontation between neighbors Thursday, Chatham-Kent police said.

Officers called to Wellington Street East in Chatham found a woman involved in an ongoing dispute with her neighbor. She approached the neighbors with a long gun and accused them of theft, police said.

When the argument escalated, the woman allegedly pointed her gun at the neighbors, police said.

Officers arrested a suspect and seized an air rifle, police said.

A 40-year-old Chatham woman is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and pointing a firearm, police said. Shed was being held pending a bail hearing.
