(PHOTOS) Highlights from Caitlin Clark’s WNBA Rookie Season… So Far!

2024 is the year of Caitlin Clark.

Even people who aren’t from Iowa know who Clark is these days.

She helped the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team reach the NCAA championship game for the second year in a row. Although they were fan favorites, they ultimately did not win the title.

The Iowa Hawkeyes lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks 87 – 75.

Less than two weeks after a crushing loss to undefeated South Carolina, Caitlin Clark made her debut on ‘Saturday Night Live’ during Weekend Update.

She was in town for the WNBA Draft and decided to stop by.

On April 15, the West Des Moines native was the first overall pick in the WNBA Draft, picked up by the Indiana Fever, who were coming off a rough couple of seasons.

One of the highlights for fans during Clark’s rookie season in the WNBA was her friendship and chemistry with teammate Aliyah Boston. Boston was also the first overall draft pick the year before Caitlin.

A few other key moments from Clark’s debut season came with the Chicago Sky.

Not only does Sky feature Hawkeye’s former college rival Angel Reese, but there was also a messy moment that took the internet by storm involving Chennedy Carter.

During the team’s first game at the Commissioner’s Cup, Chennedy shot Carter and then pushed Caitlin for no apparent reason.

Carter was given a flagrant 1 penalty for the unsportsmanlike push.

She also played on the same team as Angel this season. Both women were the only rookies selected to the WNBA All-Star Team.

Clark was one of five starters.

The WNBA team competed against an elite group of women who were traveling to Paris to represent the U.S. team at the Olympics. The team played a 5-on-5 game.

These Olympians lost to Team USA in a very interesting match.
