Chamber publishes discussion points for 2024 elections – GX94 Radio

The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce has released its Election 2024 Talking Points for the upcoming provincial and municipal elections.

Mike Stackhouse, chairman of the House Policy Committee, said the documents are intended to spark discussion about this fall’s elections.

Key provincial concerns include taxation and bureaucracy, education, infrastructure, workforce, and business development. Municipal concerns focus on property taxes, city budgets, business development, and infrastructure.

Chamber President Sunil Shah stressed the importance of policies that support business growth, saying, “When the business community is strong, the entire community is strong.” The documents, which also include details on running for mayor or council, are available at the Chamber office, on its website and at various local businesses.

The provincial election is scheduled for October 28 and the municipal election is scheduled for November 13. The Chamber encourages the citizens of Yorkton to vote in both elections.
