MONTGOMERY, AL – The pitching staff delivered a one-run night, the bats coming back in the eighth inning and the Montgomery Kimchi (51-43, 11-14) defeated the Mississippi Braves (45-48, 14-11) on Korean Heritage Night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Adam Leverett threw six innings of one-run batters in his 11th start of the season, surrendering five hits, no walks and striking out four.

Mason Auer doubled and scored in the third inning for the game’s first run. The M-Braves responded with a run in the fourth to tie the game at 1-1. Neither team scored until the eighth inning.

With two outs in the eighth, Dominic Keegan singled up the middle to drive in the go-ahead run. Heriberto Hernandez followed with a rocket homer down the left-field line to make it 4-1. He has hit 10 home runs in 46 games for Montgomery.

Antonio Menendez earned the win with two scoreless innings behind Leverett, and Keyshawn Askew earned his first save in the ninth.

Game 5 of the series is Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium. Trevor Martin will start for Montgomery, while Drue Hackenberg is scheduled to start for Mississippi. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m. CT. Fans can tune in on Sports Radio 740, MiLB First Pitch App and Bally Live.
