Fellow 16-year-old Wise millera product of the Iolani Swim Club in Honolulu, HI, took 2nd place with a time of 1:00.95. It was a huge personal best for Miller, who shaved almost a full second off her previous best of 1:01.75, which she swam last week at the Hawaii LC Age Group Championships.

46 years old again Gabrielle Roos continued to impress. The 1996 and 2000 Olympic veteran won the women’s 200-meter breaststroke by just two seconds, swimming a time of 2:30.60. The swim was just shy of her personal best of 2:30.13, which she swam last month at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

In the men’s 100-meter butterfly, Rose Bowl Aquatics, an 18-year-old Logan Noguchia Princeton recruit, won with a time of 53.67. It was a great swim for the future Tiger, who swam under 54 seconds for the first time in this event.

That swim was Balva’s first sub-4:00 in the event, breaking his career record of 4:00.82 set in that meet last year. Flatiron Athletic Club 16-year-old Gavin Keogh finished 2nd with a time of 3:59.97, breaking his previous best time of 4:08.85.
