Colorado Weather Alert: Severe Storms and Scattered Showers Expected Today

Denver, CO – Colorado residents can expect a mix of severe weather and rising temperatures today. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, with the highest chance at higher elevations.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, a few strong to severe storms are possible on the plains, with gusty winds and possible hail. Temperatures will be just above normal, with Denver reaching a high of 91 degrees.

The weather service warns that stronger storms could produce locally heavy rain and small hail. There is also a limited threat of flash flooding over burned areas.

Looking ahead, temperatures in Denver are forecast to rise all week. Sunday will hit 96 degrees, while Monday and Tuesday will see highs of 97 degrees. The heat wave will continue through Thursday, with highs staying in the mid-90s before cooling slightly to the 90s on Saturday.
