Throughout his career, Jon Rahm has had unwavering support from his wife, Kelley Cahill, who has stood by him through triumphs and criticism. Even after his controversial move to LIV Golf, Cahill has been his constant companion, offering unwavering support when he has faced intense public criticism. A devoted fan, she has always been there to cheer him on, both personally and professionally.

But does she play golf? Not really. The Oregon native has been an athlete most of her life, but golf has never been her focus. While at Chaparral High School, the 30-year-old played tennis and reached No. 9 in the state of Arizona. So Cahill has always been competitive. She even once challenged Rahm to a tennis match.

Cahill told the San Diego Union-Tribune about the match and revealed how shocked she was when Rahm started hitting forehands, crosscourt zingers and whatnot. He eventually beat her and she uttered“I was actually angry for a day or two. We haven’t set foot on a tennis court since then.” The Spaniard later told Golf Digest that he never shared this with Cahill, but that he played a lot of racket sports and was a better tennis player than the high school star as a result.

But tennis wasn’t the only sport Cahill played in her life. After graduating from high school in 2012, the 30-year-old turned her attention to a completely different sport, one that Rahm could never beat her at.

What sport did Kelley Cahill play in college?

Kelley Cahill and Jon Rahm met at Arizona State University, where the Spaniard had a scholarship to study golf and his wife was on the track team. Cahill previously threw the javelin for ASU; her best record was at the PVCC Outdoor, where she shot a javelin of 34.51 m. Her power was commendable, and even Rahm was speechless.

Given that, the Oregon native also dabbles in soccer. While he could beat her in tennis, Rahm felt a little intimidated by Cahill when she played javelin or soccer. He told Golf Digest, “She has a lot more overhand power than I do. And I didn’t want to injure myself,” and he never challenged her to a contest.

In another Instagram post from the Spaniard in 2017, the two-time major winner showed off Cahill’s true soccer skills. Impressed with her throw, the LIV pro said, “Yeah, she throws a mean spiral!! I better stick to golf.” Cahill is currently expecting her third child with Rahm, as the two announced their pregnancy in March 2024. Aside from this, Cahill’s professional life remains unknown, but in recent years she has been a regular at Rahm’s events and a pillar of support for him during difficult times.
