LSU Freshman IF Spreads Positivity With NIL Deal

LSU incoming freshman softball player Alix Franklin uses her NIL to spread the power of positivity.

Franklin – a recent St. Amant (Louisiana) High School graduate who led her team to three consecutive softball state championships – signed a NIL deal to become a brand ambassador for I am secondThe Dallas-based nonprofit provides resources for people to “take the next step toward a new identity that puts God and others first.”

“I’ve always dreamed of playing college softball so I could tell people about Jesus,” Franklin said in a social media post announcing the partnership. “Being a part of this organization allows me to use my platform as an LSU athlete to share the gospel and use my gifts, talents and skills for His glory.”

Franklin, a corner infielder, has experienced plenty of personal glory during her high school career. As a senior, she batted .533 and finished with 18 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 57 runs despite being walked 47 times. She batted .544 as a junior and had 22 home runs. Franklin is a four-time all-state selection who plays summer ball with the Texas Bombers American 18U team.

“She was great last year, but there wasn’t as much pressure,” said coach St. Amant Amy Piter told the Attorney in Baton Rouge“This year the pressure was there, and Alix was great again.”

LSU felt like home to Alix Franklin

Alix Franklin had plenty of suitors, but ultimately she preferred to stay close to home and LSU fit all her criteria.

“LSU is home,” Franklin, who also had a 4.0 grade point average in high school, told the Advocate.

“I’m a big family girl who likes minimal change. I can be there in 30 minutes and I grew up going to their games. LSU has a phenomenal environment and the staff makes me feel loved and accepted. I really want to see my little brother grow up and my family support system is strong. I want to give back to my community and state.”

In addition to her state championships, Franklin was highly regarded by multiple scouting services and was a consensus top 30 player nationally.
