DENVER (KDVR) — Scattered storms are expected Saturday, mainly after 1 p.m., along with high temperatures in the mid to low 90s. This is all in advance of a return to warm and dry conditions starting Sunday.

Weather today: Sunny and warm with a chance of showers

Denver will start off Saturday with plenty of sunshine as highs will be in the low 90s. Cloud cover will increase ahead of some afternoon showers and storms, some of which could bring gusty winds and heavy downpours.

Although wind is the biggest threat here, some severe storms can also produce hail, especially on the plains.

Weather tonight: Showers and storms disappear

Any remaining showers and storms will clear out of the area Saturday night as skies clear. Lows tonight will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Outlook: Warm, sunny

A dry and warm weather pattern is set to arrive starting Sunday. High temperatures on Sunday will climb into the mid 90s, which is just over 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

The forecast for the first half of the week is for temperatures to exceed 35 degrees Celsius, resulting in several days of record temperatures.

Monday is expected to fall short of the 2005 daily record of 36 degrees Celsius. Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures exceed 36 degrees Celsius, just shy of the record highs of 38 and 38 degrees Celsius respectively.
