Kevin Garnett shows off Suns’ $3.3 million deal after Tyus Jones prediction fills him with pride

Kevin Garnett or Nostradamus? The Big ticket is making waves in the basketball community once again. This time, it’s not because of his infamous trash-talking or legendary on-court antics, but because of his uncanny ability to predict future player moves. Over six months ago, Garnett made a bold prediction about Tyus Jones that has now come true. Was it just a lucky guess or a classic Garnett insight? One thing KG has already made clear is his enthusiasm, calling it “one of the best moves of free agency!”

In January, the 15-time NBA All-Star confidently stated on his podcast that Tyus Jones would be a perfect fit for the Phoenix Suns. “You know who Phoenix should go get? Tyus Jones,” he declared. Fast forward to June and Tyus Jones has signed a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Suns. To proclaim, the official KG certified The Instagram account shared the old clip of Garnett with the following caption: “KG called Tyus Jones to the Suns back in January,” accompanied by mindblowing and crystal ball emojis.

Garnett also shared the post on his Stories, writing, “Yoooooooo I called this!!”What’s more, the 48-year-old didn’t stop at Instagram. He also took to X to share the same clip, adding, “And secretly one of the best moves of free agency!” with an emoji of a man shrugging his shoulders.

Last season, Tyus Jones played 66 games for the Washington Wizards, setting personal bests in PPG (12), RPG (2.7), and APG (7.3). His impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of 7.35 ranked him first in the league, which also marks the highest ratio of any player in league history. Interestingly, Jones has now won the single-season assist-to-turnover ratio title for six consecutive seasons. Is that why Garnett believes Jones is the missing piece for the Suns that can unlock their full potential?

Kevin Garnett Reveals How Tyus Jones Will Fix Phoenix Suns’ Problems

In January, during an episode of Ticket & The TruthKevin Garnett was a strong supporter of the Suns acquiring Tyus Jones. “That son of a bitch, aside from Haliburton… he’s productive in terms of being effective and handling the ball well,” Garnett said. He highlighted Jones’ exceptional ball-handling skills, noting that Jones rarely loses the ball and represents a valuable traditional point guard option.

Additionally, the 2008 NBA champion highlighted Jones’ leadership qualities during Ja Morant’s absence in Memphis. “When you think about Memphis when they played without Ja, bro, he was the leader of that,” he explained.

According to Garnett, the Suns currently lack a traditional point guard, a role he believes Jones can fill well. “They need a point guard, bro. That’s why that sh*t look like this, bro. They need a real point guard,” he emphasized.

With Tyus Jones joining the Suns, only time will tell if Garnett’s second prediction that Jones will be a pivotal player for the team comes true.
