Talking Rock Golf Resort Honored to Feature in National Top 100 Course Rankings After 2023 Fire – Kamloops News

Talking Rock Golf Resort in Skwlax, Secwepemculecw, northeast of Little Shuswap Lake, has been named one of the top 100 courses in Canada by ScoreGolf Magazine.

The band said in a press release that last year’s devastating wildfire did not prevent the golf resort from being included in the national rankings.

Talking Rock ranks 73rd, down from 66th in 2022. The Chase Region ranks sixth out of nine public courses in British Columbia to make the list.

Cody Bell, director of golf and head professional at Talking Rock, said it’s a “real honor” to be among the top 100 public facilities.

“The rankings, which are published every two years, have historically been dominated by private clubs in some of Canada’s largest cities,” Bell said in a statement.

“With more than 60 percent of the facilities on the list being private clubs, being recognized as a public facility is a testament to the experience we provide guests here at Talking Rock.”

The resort was also named Professional Golf Association of BC Interior Facility of the Year in 2023, the third consecutive year Talking Rock has received this honor.

According to the band, this honor is given to a company that has demonstrated innovation and leadership in providing an excellent golf experience.

Bell said the ultimate goal for Talking Rock is to be recognized as the province’s Facility of the Year, a title it will win in 2022.

“Being recognized as Facility of the Year in the Interior for the third year in a row – and four of the last five years – is a testament to how consistent we are, season after season, in delivering an exceptional golf experience,” Bell said.

“We love letting our guests know how beautiful this place is.”

ScoreGolf’s 2024 Top 100 rankings also include Sagebrush Golf Club in Merritt, at No. 17, and Tobiano Golf Course, at No. 29.

Predator Ridge in Vernon was recognized for its Ridge and Predator courses, which were ranked No. 33 and 92, respectively.
