Three people are accused of kidnapping, tying up and forcing a man to jump from a bridge into traffic, Oklahoma officials said.

Officers responded to the scene in Okmulgee County after a caller reported seeing “someone jumping into traffic” along Highway 266, the sheriff’s office said in a July 26 Facebook post. The incident happened near the Deep Fork River Bridge, which is near the town of Grayson — about a 100-mile drive east of Oklahoma City.

According to officers, the man was “seriously injured” and required “immediate medical attention.” They also saw that he was bound with duct tape, suggesting that the decision to jump was not made voluntarily, the sheriff’s office said.

“Further investigation revealed that the victim in this case had been abducted and forced off the bridge after being bound with duct tape,” the sheriff’s office said.

After speaking with witnesses, officers arrested three people, Sean Lunney, Brianna Nohmer and Jaysen Lawson, officials said. Officers also recovered a weapon they believe was used in the kidnapping.

Nohmer, 18, was booked into the Okmulgee County Detention Center on charges of assault with intent to kill and kidnapping, jail records show. Lawson, 21, is charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. The eldest, Lunney, 31, also is charged with kidnapping, plus aggravated assault and pointing a firearm, records show.

Investigators would not say what the motive for the kidnapping was.

“This case is an ongoing investigation and no other information will be released at this time,” the sheriff’s office said.
