I-35 between Huxley and Ames to be closed tonight this week

If you’re driving Interstate 35 between Huxley and Ames this week, be aware that road closures may occur overnight.

When will I-35 be closed between Huxley and Ames?

The Iowa DOT will close I-35 from Iowa 210 to US 30 overnight Tuesday, July 30 through Wednesday, July 31, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.

Crews will be installing beams for the 315th Street Bridge over I-35, according to a press release.

What detour is in effect when I-35 is closed between Huxley and Ames?

While the road is closed, drivers should follow a marked detour route around the work area via Iowa 210, Story County Road R-38 and U.S. Highway 30.

According to Iowa DOT, motorists should be aware that due to ongoing construction, US 69 between Huxley and Ames is currently closed.
