The EYC Foundation has announced the Marine Wizards 2024. The Foundation aims to inspire and support young people to pursue a career in the maritime and marine sector and honours current leaders in the industry with the status of Marine Wizard.

A Marine Wizard is recognized for exceptional skills in the marine industry, outstanding customer service, and being considered “the best of the best” in the industry. New Marine Wizards are recognized biennially based on nominations from the boating public and industry peers, with recipients selected by a Foundation-appointed committee. Marine Wizards receive a two-year honorary membership to the Eastport Yacht Club, courtesy of EYC.

“We heard so many amazing stories about so many exceptional people, but the committee unanimously agreed that these five truly excel in both skill and service,” said Deanna Sansbury, chair of the Marine Wizard committee.

The Marine Wizards of 2024 and their customer testimonials are:

Jerome Berger from True North Yachting: a “guru at coming up with solutions to difficult problems” and “really talented, and most importantly, he cares about you.”

Aaron Bradley from Bradley Marine Services: A “fantastic problem solver” who “does what he says he’s going to do.”

Ted Haaland van Haaland Marine: Able to “tackle any boat problem” and a “walking encyclopedia of boats” with a wealth of knowledge that he shares with customers.

Matt Marshall from Annapolis Cruiser: the “BEST Marine Air Conditioning Technician in the Industry,” who “takes the time to explain the problem to customers and discuss solutions.”

Tyler Ruth from Annapolis Rigging: “Very focused and committed to excellence,” who “takes his craft to the next level.”

The EYC Foundation, the charitable arm of the Eastport Yacht Club, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is entirely volunteer and dedicated to charitable and educational purposes. Details about this year’s auction, which begins in late August, will be available soon and will support the continuation of this and other Foundation programs.
