Person shot at JP’s Jackson Square MBTA station, Boston police say – NBC Boston

A man was shot near an MBTA station in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood on Monday afternoon.

The shooting was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. near 245 Centre Street, Boston police said. That address is the Jackson Square Orange Line stop, where a large police presence was seen shortly afterward.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said they arrested a person on a scooter who matched the description of the wanted person. A firearm was recovered. The person’s name was not immediately released.

It was not immediately clear whether MBTA service was affected by the shooting.
