DJU Reflects on Time at Clemson, Says Its ‘Stocks Are Up’ Entering ’24

DJ Uiagalelei wears new colors as he prepares for his fifth collegiate season with his third different team.

The former Clemson (2020-22) and Oregon State (2023) quarterback will enter his freshman season at Florida State and will be the Seminoles’ starting tight end in 2024 after transferring to Tallahassee this offseason.

Uiagalelei recently sat down with ACC Network analyst and former FSU quarterback EJ Manuel. They discussed a number of topics during the interview, including Uiagalelei’s decision to transfer to FSU, how excited he is to play in Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time, and more.

Uiagalelei also reflected on his time at Clemson, saying he “learned a lot at Clemson” and “enjoyed his time there.”

“The relationships I built there with my teammates and the coaching staff, I enjoyed that,” he said.

“I’m glad to be at Florida State. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve been in college for four years now and I’m in my fifth year at Florida State. So I feel like I have a lot of experience. But there’s a lot of things that I want to show on camera, I want to show on the field and just go out there and shoot balls for my teammates and be the best teammate that I can be, make every play that I can make, just be confident every time I step on the field and just be a great teammate, a great leader.”

Uiagalelei was asked if he thinks he has something to prove this season.

“I wouldn’t say I have anything to prove. … At the end of the day, the outside noise, what people say, opinions about me or whatever, I don’t really care,” he said. “In my heart, I know what kind of player I am and I just want to go out there and show the rest of the world that.”

When asked why people should buy DJU stock, Uiagalelei replied that it is because its stock is rising heading into 2024.

“I think there’s a lot of things I want to show the world and just a lot of things I want to put on film for different scouts and people who watch the football game,” he said. “So, that’s why.”

Of course, Uiagalelei will play against his former Clemson team when the Tigers travel to take on the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium on Oct. 5.

A former five-star prospect, Uiagalelei went 22-6 as a starter during his time with the Tigers. Overall, in 36 career games at Clemson, the California native completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 5,681 yards and 36 touchdowns with 17 interceptions to go with 913 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.

Uiagalelei is coming off a successful season at Oregon State last year, when he completed 57.1 percent of his passes for 2,638 yards and 21 touchdowns with seven interceptions. The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder also had 219 rushing yards and six additional scores on the ground.
