Man Wanted for Burglary and Forgery Arrested After Manhunt in Albany

ALBANY — A man wanted in Tangipahoa Parish on outstanding burglary and forgery warrants was found under a tarp Monday after a multi-agency manhunt.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said the Albany Police Department received a tip that Christopher Wittie was spotted Monday at a home on Julia Street. When Wittie saw officers, he took off running.

Officers from the Albany, Springfield and Killian police departments worked with Livingston Parish officers and K9 units to locate and arrest Wittie, who was hiding under a tarp a block away.

Wittie was wanted by the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office and Probation and Parole on multiple outstanding felony warrants, including burglary and forgery. He was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail.
