Excessive heat continues, storms Wednesday evening

What we follow

  • Extremely warm this week
  • Windy days
  • Storms Wednesday

An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING is in effect for the entire viewing area from Tuesday through Thursday.

Not much relief from the heat as we start this morning with temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. It is still windy in some areas with winds from the south at 10-20 mph. Today we continue our period of extreme heat.

Highs today will climb into the upper 90s and lower 100s with wind chills near 110°. It will also be breezy with winds out of the south at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph at times.

A cool front will move through the area Wednesday night, sparking our next chance for rain. Storms will begin to form along the boundary, with some of the storms being strong to severe. Damaging winds would be the biggest threat.
