Did Idaho Make a Fool of Itself at Chris Stapleton’s Concert?

If you didn’t hear what happened at Chris Stapleton’s recent concert in Nampa, we’re here to tell you what everyone’s talking about.

During Chris Stapleton’s concert at the Ford Idaho Center, Chris took the opportunity to introduce his band. The audience cheered for each member, until Then it was time for Chris to introduce his keyboardist, who he says is from California.

Then the booing started.

Yes, a lot of people in the crowd in Nampa took it upon themselves to boo another adult they paid to entertain them simply because he was from out of state.

Of course, we’ve all heard the joke that “Idaho is full,” and some people really make a point of letting others know that they don’t want Californians moving to Idaho, but this feels different.

Should we as Idahoans be ashamed of the behavior of the audience at the concert? Is this who we really are as a people? As Idahoans?

Have we gotten to the point where we hate people from another state so much? in our own country that we are willing to boo the same artists we pay our hard-earned money to see?

This writer certainly hopes not.

If you’re planning on going to Boise for a concert in the future (where hopefully the crowd will be a little better behaved), we’d like to recommend some of our favorite places to stay in downtown Boise!
