MILLBURN, N.J. — The 2024 general election is likely to be a high-turnout year, with a presidential election on the ballot. But local decisions will also be made in Millburn’s school board race on Nov. 5.

With Monday’s deadline for candidates to file petitions in the rearview mirror, five people have filed to run for Millburn School Board. There are three seats up for election; terms last three years.

Here are the candidates and their slogans, according to the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

  • Noel Bigman – “Right Now”
  • Brian G. Lawrence – “Students First”
  • Asaf Farashuddin – “Together Now”
  • Howard Wachtel – “Believe Now”
  • Christian P. Germa – “Bridging the Opportunity Gap”
