5 injured when tire falls off car on southern Minnesota highway

West Concord, MN (KROC-AM News) – Five people, including three children, were taken to St. Marys Hospital this morning after a rear tire came off a car on a Dodge County highway.

The State Patrol says the incident was reported shortly before 10 a.m. on Highway 56, just past the northern edge of West Concord. The preliminary crash report indicates 47-year-old Cesar Rivera Tinoco was driving south on Highway 56 when he lost control of the vehicle after the car’s left rear tire came off.

According to state police, the car then left the road and rolled over.

His passengers were identified as 21-year-old Cesar Rivera Quevedo, 17-year-old Angel Quevedo, 13-year-old Allison Rivera and 12-year-old Edwin Rivera Quevedo. The State Patrol says all of the occupants of the car are from Dodge Center.

They were transported to Rochester by West Concord Fire and Ambulance and Dodge Center Ambulance with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol report indicates that the driver and all passengers were wearing seat belts.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident.
