Topeka Candidates for Kansas Legislature File Campaign Finance Reports

As Election Day approaches, political candidates have filed new campaign finance reports with the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission.

Candidates who receive or spend more than $1,000 must file a report. If they receive or spend less, they must file an affidavit instead.

The new reports cover the period from January 1 to July 25 and were due on July 29. Another report on ‘last-minute contributions’, covering the period from July 26 to July 31, is due on August 1.

The reports include information on, among other things, total contributions and other receipts during the period, total expenditures and other expenditures during the period, and cash at the end of the period.
