A plane lands at Logan International Airport.

Authorities arrested a man at Boston’s Logan Airport on Wednesday and charged him with allegedly possessing and transporting child abuse material.

Kesler Xavier Saget, of Randolph, flew from the Dominican Republic to Logan. When he landed, a border patrol agent discovered the illegal materials on his phone, according to a statement from the Massachusetts attorney general. His phone allegedly showed that Saget, 43, had paid for the materials.

If you are convicted of transportation of child pornography, you face a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison. The maximum sentence is 20 years in prison, five years to life of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. For possession of child pornography, Saget faces a separate sentence of up to 20 years in prison, with the same amount of supervised release and fine.

The statement noted that this case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation.

Saget’s representative office declined to comment.
