Game Pass changes going into effect

If Game Pass subscribers, we know that some weeks are going to be better than others due to the sheer number of new games being added to the service. That’s something to keep in mind this week, as Xbox and PC Game Pass subscribers are losing more games from their subscriptions than they’re adding to them. But we can still release them this week, right?

Over the past few weeks, our Game Pass subscriptions have really come into their own. We’ve Valorant comes with a number of benefitswe have seen the introduction of the beautiful creatures of Avaand even Crash Bandicoot released a Trilogy. There is no doubt that it was a huge value for money.

This week, however, Game Pass subscribers are losing four games but only gaining access to one – and it’s a game that’s been around for a few years. Still, it’s not nearly bad enough to even consider a subscription pause…

Mafia is coming to Game Pass

The only new addition to the Game Pass library this week is Mafia: Definitive Edition.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of the classic crime game set in the roaring 1930s. It first released on Xbox in 2020 and we loved it in review

“2K has extensively revised Mafia: Definitive Edition to ensure the improvements are impactful, and it’s almost impossible to recognize the original beneath the paint.”

Players follow the story of Tommy Angelo, a taxi driver who is drawn into the dangerous world of the mafia. As he rises through the ranks of the Salieri crime family, players experience the gritty reality of organized crime during the Prohibition era. Featuring a recreated 1930s city, an expanded storyline, and improved gameplay, the game offers a fresh take on a beloved classic.

Download it from the Xbox store this week via Game Pass – it’s available as a subscription from August 13.

Leave Game Pass

Welcoming 1 match is fine, but we lose 4 in service this week.

  • Airborne Kingdoms – Cloud, Console and PC
  • Offworld Trading Company – PC Only
  • Shadow Warrior 3 – Cloud, Console and PC
  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre – Cloud, Console and PC

For us it’s brilliant Shadow Warrior 3 that will be missed the most. It doesn’t matter if you play the standard game or the Definitive EditionYou’re looking at a solid 4.5/5 game here. In fact, that’s the score we’ve given it both times we’ve reviewed it. That probably means you should play it ASAP – and even if you don’t want to play it now, shell out the cash and try again later.

In addition, others find the removal of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre of Game Pass can be a bit of a sting, especially since it’s a game that relies on the online community. Or maybe even Airborne Kingdoms.

Starting August 15, all of these games will be removed from your Game Pass subscription.
