$5 million to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse

The Safe Online Global Open Call for Proposals aims to invest globally in a safe internet, in line with the latest data and evidence from the field, technological developments and relevant frameworks for addressing digital dangers to children.

Safe Online continues to invest in a ‘system-wide’ approach to achieve maximum impact. We do this by supporting work across multiple sectors in a coordinated way under Safe Online’s three investment pillars: networks and systems, research and data, and technology tools.

  • Networks and systems: strengthen systems, infrastructures and services at all sectors and levels to enable effective measures to prevent and address online CSEA and associated harm to children.
  • Research and data: generate actionable research and data insights about the online experiences of children and young people, emerging threats and trends in the technology sector and what works to tackle these issues.
  • Technological aids: test and develop technological solutions that connect to the broader ecosystem and support the total systems approach.

All legally registered organizations (for-profit and non-profit) are eligible, with a focus on the Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia, and West and Central Africa. The maximum project budget is $250,000 for private companies and for non-profit organizations, including multilateral organizations, civil society organizations, NGOs, research institutes, think tanks, foundations, etc.
