Trump camp thanks WH for confirming there’s ‘no daylight’ between Harris and Biden: ‘Kamala caused this mess’

The Trump campaign is backing White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, saying there is no “daylight” between President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, a comment she said reflects “Kamala is responsible for the border crisis” and other issues plaguing the country.

“Thanks @PressSec for confirming: There is ‘no daylight’ between Kamala and Joe! Kamala is the boss of the border crisis. Kamala is the boss of inflation. Kamala is the boss of the wars, chaos and crime of the last 4 years,” Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign’s national press secretary, posted on X Monday afternoon with a clip of Jean-Pierre.

Leavitt responded to Jean-Pierre’s comment during Monday’s White House press briefing that Biden and Harris were “on the same page” throughout the administration and that there was no “daylight” between the two.

“(Harris) is going to lay out her vision. But again, they’re aligned, you know, they’ve been aligned for the last three and a half years. There’s been no daylight,” Jean Pierre said.

The White House spokeswoman was responding to a media question about a potential policy review process between Biden and Harris as the president winds down his final months in office and Harris continues to drum up support for her November presidential bid.

Leavitt added in an exclusive commentary to Fox News Digital on Monday that “Kamala created this mess” and therefore “cannot be trusted” to address such issues under a potential Harris administration.

“Today, the Biden White House confirmed what Kamala Harris refuses to admit: There is NO daylight between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Kamala owns the illegal immigration crisis that continues to rage at our southern border; and Kamala owns the inflationary crisis that has made food, rent, and gas unaffordable. Electing Kamala would be like hiring the thief who robbed your house to put new locks on the door. Kamala created this mess — you cannot trust her to clean it up,” Leavitt said.

Harris, who has not held a news conference since emerging as the Democratic Party’s favorite for president last month, has sought to distance herself from issues such as rising immigration and the persistent inflation problems that have plagued the country under the Biden administration.

“Kamala Harris has spent decades fighting violent crime. As a prosecutor in a border state, she took on drug cartels and jailed gang members for smuggling guns and drugs across the border,” a new campaign ad about her border policy reads.

It adds that “as vice president, she sponsored the toughest border enforcement law in decades. And as president, she will hire thousands of additional border agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking.”

Former President Trump has repeatedly criticized Harris’ campaign, viewing it as a continuation of the Biden administration. He said Harris was the “driving force” behind Biden’s policies.

Harris “is the ultra-liberal driving force behind every Biden catastrophe. She is a radical leftist lunatic who will destroy our country if she ever gets a chance to run,” Trump said at a campaign rally in North Carolina late last month.
