A California sheriff was none too pleased to learn he was featured in a new political ad for Kamala Harris promoting border security, saying it was a distortion of the facts.

“In light of a recent political ad by Kamala Harris featuring Sheriff Boudreaux and other local law enforcement officials, the Sheriff wants to make it clear that his likeness is being used without his permission and that he is NOT endorsing Harris for president or any other political office,” Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Boudreaux, who has worked for the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office for 37 years and is currently president of the California State Sheriffs’ Association, described a visit Harris made to the Central Valley in 2013 when she was California’s attorney general.

The video shows Boudreaux and other local and state law enforcement officials when Harris was in the Central Valley under circumstances he could not recall, but he did remember her demeanor during the visit.

“I want to point out, by the way, the misleading information projected in that same political ad. In the ad, Harris claims he spent decades fighting violent crime as a ‘border state prosecutor.’ The facts are that ‘then California Attorney General Kamala’ came to the Valley in 2014 with a years-long investigation into a multinational drug operation with ties to Mexican drug cartels and prison gangs,” Boudreaux said.

Boudreaux said 11 people were arrested in that particular case, including suspected Dinuba “ringleader” Jose Magana.

“The truth is Harris never cared about the cartels and did nothing to stop people from crossing the border illegally,” Boudreaux said.

Boudreaux added that Harris’ performance was just “smoke and mirrors.”

“We were in the green room. She never came in and said hello to any of us. She walked up, gave her press conference, literally walked away and never said hello to any of us,” Boudreaux said. “I’m disgusted because, you know, she didn’t shake hands. She didn’t say hello. And she took credit for all the work that the locals did.”

Boudreaux’s political action committee, Golden State Justice, also released a statement regarding the new campaign ad.

“As Attorney General, Kamala Harris undermined California law enforcement efforts to stop criminals from smuggling guns and drugs into our state across the border,” the statement said.

“She has repeatedly dismantled and shut down task forces meant to protect our residents, leaving the Valley and our state vulnerable,” the statement continued. “Kamala’s dismal attempt to portray herself as a tough guy on the border by implying that I support her — and the support of neighboring law enforcement leaders — is pathetic.”

The statement ends by stating that “a politician filling the podium at a press conference clearly has not solved our border crisis. Neither has Kamala Harris.”

The new ad, which promotes Harris’ work as a prosecutor in a border state, claims she will “hire thousands of additional border agents and take tougher action on fentanyl and human trafficking.”

“How can you go in and claim you were a strict border guard when all the troops are coming across the border and you’re literally eliminating all these task forces? I mean, that drove us crazy,” Boudreaux said.

Boudreaux said there were a lot of layoffs at the time and people were looking for new jobs because the Justice Department was laying people off.

“If you see that ad, and you do a little bit of research, what she (Harris) is promoting is completely at odds with what was happening at the time, so when she put that picture of me in it, I got really angry, that ad is all smoke and mirrors,” Boudreaux said. “I don’t support her.”
