GBI Arrests Hall County Man Accused of Sexually Exploiting Children

For the second time in less than a week, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Hall County man on suspicion of child sexual exploitation.

On August 7, officers arrested 29-year-old Alexander Webster, according to a GBI press release.

The Bureau says agents with the Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip alleged that Webster was in possession of and distributing child abuse material online.

After conducting a search of Webster’s Hall County home, officers arrested and charged him, said GBI Public Affairs Director Nelly Miles.

Edwards faces five counts of sexual exploitation of children in Hall County and six additional counts in Jackson County involving production of child abuse material. Authorities have not released details about the Jackson County charges, including whether local victims were involved.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations/US Department of Homeland Security assisted in the investigation.

Webster is being held without bail in the Hall County Jail.

On Friday, August 9, authorities took into custody another Hall County man, Blake Edwards, who faces 108 charges related to possession and distribution of child abuse material.

Anyone with information on additional cases is asked to contact the GBI’s Child Exploitation Unit at 404-270-8870 or report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline at CyberTipline.org.
