A Riverside County man already out on bail for a separate child abuse case has been arrested again for exposing himself to minors. Prosecutors say he now faces up to life in prison.

Bryan Josue Flores Valdez, 24, was arrested at his home on Aug. 7 following a lengthy investigation by the Riverside County Child Exploitation Team, according to a statement from the Riverside County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to investigators, Valdez was awaiting trial in a separate case involving three counts of child abuse when the prosecutor’s investigations division was asked to gather additional evidence, resulting in his arrest last week.

“The previous child abuse case involves Flores Valdez allegedly exposing himself to children near several elementary schools in the Corona area,” the statement said. “Following the new investigation, Flores Valdez has now been charged with 13 felonies, including sexual assault of a minor 10 years of age or younger, and charges related to the production, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.”

He made his first court appearance on Monday and is due to appear in court on August 23.

If found guilty of the charges, Flores Valdez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, prosecutors said.
